ASU Volleyball Sweeps Two, Drops One in Nebraska Classic

Sun Devils finish 2-1 in tournament with wins over Northern Iowa and San Diego

Arizona State volleyball went 2-1 at the Nebraska Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska over the weekend.

The Sun Devils opened the tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Northern Iowa on Friday. ASU then rallied from a one-set deficit to beat San Diego 3-1 on Saturday. The Sun Devils closed out the tournament with a 3-1 loss to host Nebraska on Saturday night.

Against Northern Iowa, the Sun Devils were led by junior outside hitter Ivana Jeremic, who had a match-high 11 kills. Senior outside hitter Marta Levinska added 10 kills, while senior middle blocker Claire Kovensky had nine kills. Junior setter Shannon Shields had a match-high 38 assists, while senior libero Annika Larson had a match-high 17 digs.

In the win over San Diego, the Sun Devils were led by Levinska, who had a match-high 14 kills. Jeremic added 12 kills, while Kovensky had 11 kills. Shields had a match-high 45 assists, while Larson had a match-high 20 digs.

Against Nebraska, the Sun Devils were led by Levinska, who had a team-high 12 kills. Jeremic added 11 kills, while Kovensky had 10 kills. Shields had a team-high 38 assists, while Larson had a team-high 14 digs.
