Blue Jays Batting Surge Six Run First Inning Vs Phillies

Blue Jays' Six-Run First Inning Propels Them to Victory Over Phillies

Blue Jays Crush Six Runs in First Inning

The Toronto Blue Jays exploded for six runs in the first inning, taking an early lead over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled home two runners, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. followed with a double, and Matt Chapman capped off the inning with a two-run homer.

The Blue Jays' offensive outburst was more than enough for starting pitcher Kevin Gausman, who pitched into the fifth inning, allowing just one run on three hits.

Phillies Struggle in First

The Phillies, who came into the game with the best record in the National League, were unable to keep pace with the Blue Jays' early offensive onslaught.

Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler struggled in the first inning, allowing six runs on five hits before recording an out.

The Phillies managed to score a run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Bryce Harper, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Blue Jays' lead.

Blue Jays Extend Winning Streak

With the victory, the Blue Jays extended their winning streak to five games.

They are now 25-21 on the season, and in second place in the American League East.

The Phillies dropped to 26-20 with the loss, and remain in first place in the National League East.
