Manchester City 7-0 RB Leipzig 8-1 agg
Erling Haaland scored five goals as Manchester City cruised into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a 7-0 victory over RB Leipzig on Tuesday. The Norwegian striker took his tally in the competition to 11 goals in just seven games, moving him clear of Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski as the top scorer in this season's tournament.
City were in complete control from the start and took the lead after just 27 seconds when Riyad Mahrez fired home from close range. Haaland doubled the lead just seven minutes later with a powerful header, and he made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute with a clinical finish from inside the area.
Leipzig improved slightly in the second half, but they were no match for City's attacking prowess. Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, and he added two more goals in the final 15 minutes to put the icing on the cake.
The victory was City's biggest ever in the Champions League and it sends them into the quarter-finals as one of the favourites to win the competition.
